SimpliWiFi to connect Detonate Festival this June

SimpliWiFi will provide superfast bonded 4G and failsafe satellite connectivity to Detonate Festival this June.

The festival takes place on Saturday 9 June at Colwick Country Park, Nottingham, with headline acts including English rapper Giggs and DJs Sub Focus and Shy FX.

The brief

SimpliWiFi was tasked with providing site-wide connectivity over the duration of the event. Detonate required a robust connection to link up its top up zones for cashless payments, as well as provide internet access to production teams and bar and catering facilities.

Our strategy is to provide a bespoke WiFi set up which all links into a main communications hub. We will use bonded 4G connections with a failover to multiple satellite connections providing a total bandwidth on site of around 400 Mbps. By using a failsafe, we can build a robust network with little to no chance of failure.

In the days leading up to the event, we will deploy a number of ‘plug and play’ 4G kits to enable production teams and crew to set up prior to our team’s arrival.

During the event, our on-site support team will be on hand to maintain the system and help festival staff connect to the network.
